Zelma Ruth Watson, 96, Kokomo, passed away at 4:50 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Century Villa Health Care, in Greentown. She was born September 17, 1915 in Eaton, Indiana to Emmett I. Lamberson and Eva Mae (Heaton) Lamberson. On April 7, 1933, she married Floyd P. Kennedy. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1962. Then on May 6, 1964 she married Paul E. Watson. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1987. She had attended Michigantown School then graduated from Kokomo High School. She retired from Delco Electronics in 1969 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kokomo, and UAW local 292. She loved dogs and being around people. She was an avid Kokomo Wildkats basketball fan.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Vince Kennedy, Michigan; Mary Eileen Kennedy, California; David McKay, Kokomo; nephew, William Tedlock and wife Metta, Kokomo; great niece, Zelma Hutto and husband Hal, Greenwood; great nephew, Michael Tedlock and wife Georgene, Galveston; great nephew, Tom Tedlock and wife Stacey, Kokomo; and many other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her only child, Rex Lee Kennedy, due to an auto accident in 1962. Also, two brothers, and one sister.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel 725 S. Main Street, with Pastor Jeff Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kokomo Urban Outreach, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
