Ernest Archer, Jr.

I remember when he came to Missouri to see the Seans and I. He always had a wry chuckle to share. I remember when he fell asleep on our couch and was holding the newborn Sean. He was the only one that could make the baby sleep. It was awesome that there was a four generation gap there and still they were able to bond from day one. No matter what there was my sons great grandpa who right from the start was loved and loved Sean. That means everything to me.

Ernie was always very kind to me, even though I did not know him before my dad and Sharon were married.You would not know by his kind treatment of me that I did not know him til later in life. That seems like such a short time but it definately was a memorable time. I had the opportunity top know Ernie better after the move to Spencer. While there Ernie opened his home to me anytime I got down that

While there Ernie opened his home to me anytime I got down that way to hunt in that area. Ernie also allowed me to do some work now and then. My favorite quote from Ernie that I use is this:
"Mark me down for none of that"

Ernie always had the time to either give you a smile, crack a joke or just give you a strange look to something you had said.

I remember in 1978 when Ernie got the only par on number nine hole at Green Acres Golf Club in Kokomo for the daily "gangsome". This ended up winning him a skin for the day. The strange thing about that par, was this. His first shot (a one iron) went out of bounds. His second one iron (after stroke and distance penalty), went into the hole.

Being his next door neighbors at his Florida Home in Tropicana Village we get to see Mary & Ernie all the time they are in town. Ernie was a person who loved to throw parties so that other people could have good food lots of live music and dancing. He would invite almost every person in our Community that could make it. Ernie & Mary had a great time seeing all these

Ernie & Mary had a great time seeing all these neighbors having so much fun and these neighbors had a great time being in their company.
He did this many times in his years with us.
Ernie loved to go to flea markets and see what kind of treasures he could find , So Joy and I followed right behind. We would often over the years go to a BBQ Rib restaurant called OAKWOOD He loved the ribs there. About 4 years ago Ernie almost bought a Goldwing Motor Cycle TRIKE so that He and Mary could ride to breakfast with our riding group on Tuesday mornings. After looking at the Trike’s I guess he had a change of mind.
Ernie loved his toys, I can remember a day he called me on the phone and said are you & Joy doing anything right now & I said no and asked what’s up He said he just bought a Jaguar Convertible and wanted us to go with him to Orlando to pick it up, He and Mary drove that convertible many miles down here. He did the same thing a couple of years later only this time it was a Rolls Royce , which in time he shipped back to Indiana.
I could go on and on for all the good times we had over the years with Ernie , there is so much more but I will stop here.

Ernie you cannot read this But You Will Be Sorely Missed We Love You
